“Hailong Xingye” Wind Turbine Installation Vessel in Dock

On July 18, 2018, the wind turbine installation vessel “Hailong Xingye” invested by KOE has reached the docking milestone, and the current construction work process is going smoothly.
“Hailong Xingye” is a self-elevating wind turbine installation vessel. It is designed and manufactured specifically for offshore wind turbine installation, operation and maintenance, and offshore engineering support. The vessel is suitable for offshore operation within 60 meters water depth, equipped with 1200 tons frequency drive pile-encircling crane, DP1 Dynamic Positioning System and truss legs, it is the most advanced professional wind turbine installation vessel in China. It can meet the current and future piling, installation, operation, and maintenance service demands of coastal wind farms in China for the next 10 years. It is also suitable for the installation and maintenance of the world's mainstream 5-8MW offshore wind turbines and has the capacity to accommodate future upgrades and replacements. At the same time, it has reserved space for installation and maintenance capacity for upgrading of wind turbines.
The vessel has both the cargo capacity of a loaded transportation barge and the stability of a traditional self-elevating platform. In addition, the vessel has a wide range of operations, adaptability and high degree of integration and composite, can meet a variety of offshore transportation, lifting and installation and other work requirements. It is one of the few professional installation equipment with independent intellectual property rights in China, belongs to the industry scarce assets.
Previously, KOE independently invested in and built the KOE-01 wind turbine installation vessel, which has been conducting construction operations in various parts of China since 2017. As of June this year, the platform had completed a total of 25 wind turbine installations and was in good operating condition.
Following last year's commissioning of the KOE-01 wind turbine installation vessel, KOE launched the “Hailong Xingye” project this year, which has higher operational efficiency, stronger wind and wave resistance, and is able to adapt to deeper operational water depths. In the future, KOE will continue to adhere to the concept of “professional quality, commercial integrity ”, and continue to move forward to the high-tech and deep field of marine engineering.
